Our Philosophy
We believe understanding yourself should be simple, honest, and available to everyone. No paywalls, no gimmicks, just clear tools that help you see how your mind actually works. The assessment is free to use, with no locked features or hidden tiers, so anyone who is curious and answers honestly gets the full experience.
We are a small, passionate team that wants to do this the right way. Our work is science backed and grounded in real psychometrics, not trends. We test ideas against data, keep what holds up, and keep refining what does not. Because transparency matters, the project is fully open source, so you can see how it works, question it, and even help improve it.
Over time, we want this to be a shared resource for anyone interested in cognitive functions: researchers, practitioners, hobbyists, and people simply trying to understand themselves better. You are not just a user to us, you are a collaborator in exploring how people think, decide, and grow.
Assessment Methodology
Understanding function-level assessment, Item Response Theory (IRT), assessment types, scoring methods, and how to interpret your results.
Function-Level Assessment
Traditional personality assessments focus on determining your four-letter type. However, function-level assessment goes deeper by measuring how developed each of the 8 cognitive functions is in your personality. This provides a more nuanced understanding of your cognitive preferences and can reveal:
- Which functions you use most naturally and effectively
- Areas where you may be overcompensating or underutilizing functions
- Potential mistypes based on function development patterns
- Your unique function stack configuration
- Opportunities for personal growth and development
Item Response Theory (IRT)
Our assessment uses advanced psychometric methods, including Item Response Theory (IRT), to provide accurate measurements of your function levels. IRT is a sophisticated statistical model that:
- Measures function development more precisely than traditional methods
- Accounts for item difficulty and discrimination
- Provides more accurate scores across different ability levels
- Allows for adaptive testing (CAT - Computerized Adaptive Testing)
- Reduces measurement error and improves reliability
Assessment Types
We offer several assessment types to suit different needs:
Quick Test
24 questions (3 per function) - A fast assessment for quick insights
Half Test
32 questions (4 per function) - A balanced assessment with moderate depth
Full Test
64 questions (8 per function) - Comprehensive assessment for detailed analysis
CAT (Computerized Adaptive Testing)
Dynamic length - Adapts to your responses for optimal precision
Scoring and Interpretation
Assessment results are calculated using a transformer scale that maps Likert scale responses (1-7) to transformer values. These values are then converted to absolute percentages (0-100%) for each function, providing a clear measure of function development.
Results include:
- Individual function scores (0-100%)
- Overall development level percentage
- Personality type likelihood scores
- Common mistype identification
- Quadrant development averages
- Development pattern analysis
Review Test Sections
Review and analyze individual test sections and responses. Access detailed breakdowns of how each question was answered, explore cognitive function scores, and understand the assessment methodology behind your results.
Review Test SectionsOpen Data
Access open, anonymized datasets and research resources on cognitive function assessment and personality type analysis. We apply industry best-practice security standards to protect privacy and keep all information safely anonymized.
