Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 21, 2026 (version 2026-05-21)

This Privacy Policy explains how TypologyTesting.com collects, uses, protects, and shares your information when you use our services.

Plain Language Overview

TypologyTesting.com ("we", "our", or "us") protects your identifiable data to the maximum extent allowed by law. We never sell or share your identifiable information with advertisers or non-academic third parties.

Your assessment responses are stored indefinitely in anonymized form for research and quality improvement. When used for scientific purposes, responses are never linked to your identity.

  • Identifiable data is never shared with advertisers or non-academic partners.
  • Anonymous response data may be used for academic research and stored indefinitely.
  • You can delete your account at any time; personal identifiers are removed from stored responses.
  • Feedback you choose to submit may appear in marketing unless you tell us otherwise; opting out is free at any time.

Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to run TypologyTesting.com and deliver your results.

  • Account information you provide (name, email) when you create an account.
  • Assessment responses and derived results you submit.
  • Device, browser, and IP data used for security, fraud prevention, and duplicate detection.
  • Optional communication data if you contact us.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to operate, secure, and improve the service.

  • Provide, maintain, and improve assessments and result delivery.
  • Allow you to save, review, and optionally share your results.
  • Display or republish voluntary feedback (for example testimonials or quotes on the site or promotional materials).
  • Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

Purposes of Processing

When you continue to an assessment, you consent to anonymized use of your responses for the purposes below. You can change optional purposes anytime in Settings.

  • Research: anonymized responses for academic research and open science.
  • Service improvement: anonymized data to improve assessments, scoring, and platform quality.
  • Aggregate analytics: de-identified statistics for premium community insights and commercial benchmarks.
  • Marketing feedback: voluntary feedback you submit may appear in marketing unless you opt out.

Commercial Use of Aggregated Data

We may use de-identified, aggregated assessment statistics to power premium features (for example community comparisons) and potential B2B benchmark products.

Aggregates are produced with minimum group-size thresholds to reduce re-identification risk. We do not sell identifiable personal information or raw response rows tied to your identity.

If you opt out of aggregate analytics in Settings, your responses are excluded from future aggregate/commercial datasets while remaining available for your personal results where applicable.

Research Use and Anonymization

We support open science while protecting your identity. Responses used for research are stripped of personal identifiers (e.g., name, email, IP, free-text fields). Researchers cannot link responses back to you.

Aggregate, de-identified response data may be uploaded to scientific repositories so findings can be verified and replicated.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to sign you in, keep you signed in, and secure your session.

With your consent, we also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used, and advertising cookies (Google AdSense) to show ads that help support the service.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google’s certified consent tool (AdSense Privacy & messaging) collects ad-related choices and integrates with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Elsewhere, you can manage analytics and advertising cookies via the Cookies control in the site footer.

Advertising and analytics cookies are disabled until you grant consent. You can change your choices at any time.

  • Essential cookies: required for authentication and security.
  • Analytics cookies: optional; help us measure traffic and improve the product.
  • Advertising cookies: optional; used by Google AdSense to display and personalize ads when you grant consent.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We share data only when needed to run the service or when required by law.

When you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads. Google’s use of data from sites that use its services is described in Google’s privacy policy.

  • Service providers under contract who help us operate the platform.
  • Legal compliance (e.g., valid subpoenas). We have not been subpoenaed; this notice will be removed if that changes.
  • Security, safety, and fraud prevention.

Security

Passwords are salted and hashed, and account data is stored in encrypted systems. We use modern security practices to protect data in transit and at rest.

Data Retention and Deletion

Account information is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, which removes personal identifiers (e.g., name, email) from stored responses.

Anonymous response data may be retained indefinitely for research and service improvement, without any identifiers.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights over your data. Contact us to exercise them.

  • Access, correct, or delete your account information.
  • Request export of your account information where applicable.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, subject to legal obligations.
  • Opt out at no charge from future use of your submitted feedback as marketing material, and request removal where practicable.
  • Manage sharing preferences for your assessment results (e.g., keep private, share with friends, or followers).

Results Pages and Sharing

Results pages use randomly generated links and contain no personal identifiers. If you share a results link, recipients may forward it. Comments on results pages may be visible to others who complete the same assessment.

Feedback and Marketing

When you voluntarily send us feedback—including ratings, testimonials, surveys, emails, or other comments—we may reproduce or adapt that material for marketing and promotional purposes on TypologyTesting.com (for example testimonials, screenshots of reviews, social posts, ads, case studies, or similar).

You may fully opt out of this use at any time without charge by contacting us. If you opt out, we stop using your feedback for new marketing and will honor reasonable requests to take down identifiable material already published, subject to archival or technical limits.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will post updates here and adjust the "Last updated" date.
