Meet Kingpin
Kingpin is a data scientist and typology enthusiast who spent years frustrated with the state of personality testing online. Every quiz felt like entertainment but nothing was advancing the study of typology. Fun labels with no real calibration behind them.
He did not want just a "type" that might or might not fit. He wanted to understand how his mind actually worked, and he wanted numbers that meant something... something that actually accurately measured his personality. He built what he wished existed: a test that treats personality as a measurable phenomenon that can be understood and improved with data.
Kingpin believes typology can be more than memes and stereotypes. Item Response Theory, cross-trait analysis, reliability testing, and continuous calibration on open data turn it into a genuine tool for self-understanding and scientific inquiry.
The dream
The ultimate goal is simple and ambitious: create the best personality assessment in the world by using the best systems and theories that humanity has to offer.
That does not mean the most popular quiz. It means the most accurate, the most transparent, and the most useful. Every question in our item bank is scored with Item Response Theory (IRT), the same statistical framework used in standardized exams and clinical instruments. Its use in assessments like the SAT, ACT, MCAT, LSAT, PSAT, and GRE is a testament to its effectiveness and reliability.
So basically, weak questions are removed. Strong questions are weighted more heavily. The entire bank improves with every response. It is an assessment that learns from the data and improves quality and accuracy with every response. So in theory, all of our assessments will become the best assessment in the world sooner or later.

All of it is open. Our item-level analytics are published on the Data page. Researchers can inspect the same statistics that power the live assessments. And you can see how your responses are used to improve the assessment. Sometimes we can find things that are novel and unexpected. And we share that with you.
Data that actually matters
Open DataMost online personality tests collect millions of responses and do almost nothing with them. They are black boxes: you answer, you get a label, and your data disappears into a vault you will never see.
We take the opposite approach. Every response feeds into our calibration pipeline. The Data page publishes aggregate item statistics with no login required, including best items, worst items, trait correlation, test accuracy, IRT parameters, test quality comparisons, and test stats, reliability, and distributions. Nothing is hidden behind a paywall: it is the same transparency we describe in our philosophy.
This is quantitative data, not anecdotes. It is the kind of information that can advance scientific understanding of personality. It does not just confirm what we already think we know.
